Wakesurfing in early April sounds like a pipe dream to most Wisconsinites.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to head down to Florida for Hyperlite and HO Skis’s Shreducation 2022.

Shreducation is a four-day-long look at Hyperlite/HO Skis’s newest products. The best way to learn about these products is to use them hands-on! My days consisted of wake surfing, foiling, skiing, and fun in the sun.

On day one, the midwest crew and I rode behind wakeboarding legend Rusty Malinoski’s Super Air Nautique G23 Paragon. On day two, we rode with pro wakesurfer, Jodi Grassman. We tried an abundance of wakesurfs and skims on the best waves imaginable.

Some stand-out products were the Shim and Landlock.

The Shim offers a perfect hybrid of both skim and surf characteristics. The board made maintaining speed in the wave easy and tricks a breeze. I’m 205lbs, so the 5’3″ model rode comfortably.

The other board worth noting is the Landlock. Multiple riders with zero experience saw success on it. The board allows for easy starts and effortless riding once the rope’s thrown.

After four days in the Florida sun, I headed back to the tundra.
