Dungeon 2025: Wausau’s Biggest Ski Sale is Oct 20-25

Paying too much for ski gear will haunt you all season. Shep’s has wicked deals for the whole family!

Dungeon Sale took place in our creepy basement for 30+ years. Shop our spacious “Tower” this year, where our largest-ever selection of used and new past-season slope gear waits. The entire store hosts spirited discounts during the annual event, including new 25/26 inventory. Our biggest event of the year!

Why torture your wallet by ghosting this sale?

You’ll find wicked low prices on used and new ski and snowboard gear, plus clearance-priced outerwear, clothes, footwear and winter accessories during our most popular annual event. This is in addition to 20% off 25/26 must-have soft goods from the premium brands you love us for. In summary, the entire store is deeply discounted before the snow even flies.

Yes, new 25/26 ski and snowboard equipment is on sale too! Shepherd & Schaller Package Pricing (you can call it bundling) allows you to pay the lowest possible price on all new ski and snowboard necessities including skis, boards, boots, bindings and poles. (Hint: our prices are so low we can’t advertise specifics here or at shepssports.com, where you can preview what’s new this season.) Helmets and Goggles will be 20% off. Package Discount Pricing is available year-round, but prices go up after Dungeon Sale. Shop now!

You can combine used and new equipment to create your perfect ski or snowboard package. You’ll get our lowest price on each item.

Binding adjustments are $15 on Dungeon Sale in-store purchases. (Bring your ski boots along if you aren’t buying new ones. We need them for new mounts and adjustments.)

Kid’s gear and outerwear is among our most popular categories. We have a great selection, so don’t sweat it if you can’t visit until later in the week. No appointment needed.

Have something to sell on consignment? Here’s how:

Drop off healthy, clean used skis, snowboards, boots and poles through Oct 10, 2025. After passing a quick inspection by our Pros, they’ll be part of our Dungeon Sale inventory. We help price it for you and keep only a 10% consignment fee when it sells, then give you Shep’s Store Credit to use toward the purchase of any of our products or services. We don’t accept clothing or non-indemnified gear for consignment.

What’s it like to shop Dungeon Sale?

It’s located on our 3rd floor. If stairs aren’t your thing, we’ll bring the deals to you on the main floor. You’ll get one-on-one expert advice to find and fit the best ski and snowboard gear for your needs and budget. Scare up some savings on clothing, footwear and accessories on the main floor and Clearance Balcony while you wait for a Shep’s associate to escort you to the Dungeon or assist with new equipment. Sign-in when you arrive and we’ll assist asap.

What else do I need to know?

  • Shop Monday-Saturday 10am – 5pm (We’re open late on Thursday 10/23/25 until 8pm.)
  • We don’t allow pre-sales or pre-shopping. That would be monstrously unfair.
  • We don’t accept returns of consigned gear after purchase.
  • We don’t allow Dungeon gear to be put on hold (used gear belongs to its’ owners and they want it to sell!)
  • If you’re shopping for someone who can’t attend, please bring shoe size, height, weight, age and, for children, a tracing of their footprint.
  • Our Dungeon equipment inventory is available after ski swap season. Shop it again after 1/2/26.
  • Customer Account Balances expire five years from issuing.  This includes Gift Cards, Warranty Refunds, Consignment Sale Account Credit and any others.

Generations, Properly Outfitted.

Experience matters.

The right preparation makes your time outdoors better. We’re a specialty outdoor store built on technical expertise, careful curation, and long-term relationships. Since 1949, Shepherd & Schaller has equipped generations of skiers and outdoor enthusiasts.

What began with leather boots and wooden snowshoes has evolved into a carefully curated collection of alpine equipment, performance apparel, and outdoor essentials chosen for one reason: they perform when it matters.

Seventy-seven years later, we remain committed to doing it right, in store and at shepssports.com.

Here are a few uniquely Shep’s opportunities to save while prepping for the outdoors:

Shep’s Last Call Loft Collection

The outdoor clothing, accessories and footwear brands you love are discounted 25-70% on our second floor year-round. The Loft features clothing and footwear for adults plus outerwear for kids. The Community that Shaped Us

Each season offers its own reason to step outside and here, people rarely need much encouragement to do so.

FOUR SEASONS OF OUTDOOR LIFE

Life in Central Wisconsin follows the rhythm of the seasons, a place where people step outside to feel connected—to the land, and each other. Winters are welcomed rather than endured, with skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, and crisp mornings on the trails. Summer invites long days on the lakes and quiet hikes beneath towering pines. Locals and tourists flock year round to our renowned bike trails and parks for both adventure and rest.

Just steps beyond town, the landscape opens into miles of forest, lakes, and trails that stretch north toward some of the most beautiful outdoor country in the Midwest. It’s a place where people slow down, breathe deeper, and celebrate the simple joy of being outside. Northwoods spirit begins here.

OUR COMMUNITY, OUR CUSTOMERS

The people who walk through our doors aren’t just customers—they’re neighbors, families, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

Many have shopped with us for decades. Some first visited as children preparing for their first day on the slopes and now return with their own kids in tow.

What connects them all is a shared appreciation for the outdoors and for the community that makes Central Wisconsin such a special place to live and visit.

It’s a relationship built over years of conversations, shared stories, and a mutual love of life outside.

ROOTED HERE SINCE 1949

Since 1949, Shepherd & Schaller has been part of the Central Wisconsin story.

What began as a small local outfitter grew alongside the community it served. Through changing seasons, new generations of skiers, and decades of Northwoods winters, our mission has remained the same: helping people step outside prepared and inspired.

The trails may change and the gear may evolve, but the spirit of the outdoors—and the community that surrounds it—remains beautifully constant.

We outfit families before they head up the hill, to the trails or water —helping beginners take their first turns and experienced enthusiasts find gear that keeps them moving all year.
